Join UL for a discussion about the importance of standards and how it can support global trade, along with the benefits of certification—including market access.

This webinar will broadcast on 11 June 2020 at 11h00 (GMT+2), featuring Manjunath V. representing Underwriters Laboratories and Marcello Manca representing UL.

Globalisation has opened new avenues for developing nations to compete in the world’s marketplace. However, bringing products to market is not enough—they must be safe and operate as expected in order to ensure trust.

Underwriters Laboratories, a nonprofit-standards developing organisation accredited in the US and Canada, conforms with the WTO Technical Barriers to Trade principles.

It pursues harmonisation agreements with national standards bodies throughout the world to extend the research and resources involved in developing its standards for safety.

Its affiliate, UL, provides testing, certification and other services to empower trust in line with the organisation’s mission of working for a safer world.

Manjunath V. is the Global Standards Program Manager for UL, focusing his work in South Asia, Africa and the Middle East. His many years of experience is shown through his relationships with various government and standards bodies using his knowledge of the industries and standards to connect and build bridges
Marcello Manca is VP of Government and Industry Affairs, EMEA, working for UL since 1999. He has a 37-year history in the conformity assessment sector, on both sides of the Atlantic, and of the process – as manufacturing industry representative, and as a TIC-industry operator.
