South African Institute of Electrical Engineers Entrepreneurship and Innovation Chapter (SAIEE-EIC) announced that its chairperson, Yolanda Mabuto, has been appointed as the board member and leader of World Business Angel Investment Forum – Global Start Up for African Continent.
Mabuto is currently the international partner for World Business Angel Investment Forum (WBAF) representing South Africa and founder of Divaine Growth Solutions. WBAF is an affiliated partner of the G20 Global Partnership for Financial Inclusion (GPFI).
The Global Start Up Committee of the WBAF is committed to helping the next generation of great companies move forward and to showcase the world’s top start-ups and scale-ups at the Global Fundraising Stage (GFRS).
The forum intends to do this by establishing a superior deal flow pipeline that connects investors with superior start-ups and through training and mentorship to help the next generation of companies that are seeking to raise funding in order to grow and scale their businesses.
This is done through bridging qualified investors and entrepreneurs and creating a global community that attracts the best deal flow. The GRFS is an international co-investment platform for angel investors, start-ups, scale-ups and high growth businesses.
The goals of the World Business Angel Investment Forum’s Global Start-up – similar to that of the South African Institute of Electrical Engineers Entrepreneurship and Innovation Chapter – are to create employment through entrepreneurship and enabling social justice around the world.
The Global Start Up team will be working with like-minded organisations to collaborate on furthering their goals which include acting on as a link between ecosystems and investors across the world, leveraging the global WBAF network to connect investors with opportunities and integrating the UN Sustainable Development Goals into their messaging.
Mabuto is expected to join the Global Start Up committee that is represented in the following continents, Asia, Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean, Middle East and North and Central America.
Mabuto indicated that she is delighted to join and represent South Africa and Africa in building strong foundations and delivering strategic change and transformation in the global start up ecosystem. She believes in collaboration and creation of innovative support for businesses in order to support the economic growth of the countries.
