New local director for CDC Group office in South Africa

United Kingdom development finance institution and impact investor CDC Group has appointed Thithi Kuhlase-Maseko as its new South Africa Head of Office and Coverage Director.

She will lead the CDC’s Johannesburg office, to strengthen the company’s ambition to broaden its impact locally and throughout Africa.

Kuhlase-Maseko joins CDC from the Eastern and Southern Africa Trade and Development Bank (TDB), where she served as Principal Coverage Officer for the Southern Africa region. Prior to her tenure at TDB, she led strategic mandates and business development activities in several DFIs including Ithala Development Finance Corporation and Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA). She is a South African national who holds an MBA from Lincoln University in Missouri, US and a BA in Social Sciences from the University of Swaziland.

Kuhlase-Maseko expressed her pleasure in this opportunity to drive CD investment goals in South Africa: “My role comes at an exciting time when South Africa is taking a bold step in focusing investments in key areas such as energy and climate and forging partnerships that will help shape its next decade of growth.
