Corruption allegations involving Eskom’s former acting CEO, Matshela Koko, came to light last week involving an international engineering firm, ABB.

This is the first time a company with contracts at Eskom has linked Koko directly to corrupt activities at the utility and has given the special investigations unit evidence to back up its claims.

Koko and Impulse owner Pragasen Pather have both denied the claims, saying the contracts were awarded legitimately.
