The Uganda 2023 strategy comes into focus at the 2015 SSA Power Summit

Vale Media Group (VMG), the Sub Saharan Africa focused Oil, Gas, Power & Mining Business to Business (B2B) events company released further details on their forthcoming 2015 Sub Saharan Africa Power Summit, which is taking place this October 21st – 23rd 2015 in the beautiful city of Cape Town, South Africa.

VMG’ Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer, Daniel Maggs, announced “it is with great pleasure that we are able to confirm the delegation from the country of Uganda that will join us at the forthcoming 2015 SSA Power Summit. Building on the success of last year’s gathering we are delighted to welcome to the Summit the Uganda Electricity Generation Company who will be represented this year by the Project Manager and Environmental Specialist, Moses Otim, who is heading up the the $1.9bn Ayago Power Station programme which will be developed in two simultaneous phases, known as Ayago North (estimated capacity 350mw) and Ayago South (estimated capacity 250mw). The project is part of the 2023 strategy, and one of three hydro projects (Karuma & Isimba power projects) that will help alleviate the power shortages that have plagued Uganda since the 90’s”

VMG’s Co-Founder & President, Matthew Hewitson, added ‘this goes to show that Africa is leading the way in renewable energy and its fantastic to have representation from Uganda. As a country, they have been a shining light of success of implementing renewable energy into their power infrastructure and investing into new projects.
