Global powerhouse Siemens is once again the diamond partner of European Utility Week and POWERGEN Europe which is taking place at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles in France from 12-14 November.

The combined event will showcase expert knowledge, innovative solutions and foresight from hundreds of industry leaders, coherent with the European strategy to achieve a smooth transition towards a low carbon energy supply.

“Together with our customers and partners, we are driving the transition to sustainable, low-carbon, resource-efficient societies,” states Sabine Erlinghagen and Robert Klaffus, CEOs at Siemens - Smart Infrastructure - Digital Grid, adding that “jointly we've created an ecosystem that intuitively responds to the needs of people, supports sustainable developments, helps our customers to capitalise on the multitude of opportunities and to better use resources.”

According to Erlinghagen and Klaffus, this year Siemens will showcase at European Utility Week how “we are combining the strengths of Siemens in Electrification, Automation and Digitalisation and enabling customised solutions for municipalities, transmission and distribution system operators, generation companies and large energy consumers.”

“In this way we are helping our clients to find their individual optimised mix of conventional and renewable energy sources with efficient generation, further electrification, intelligent power grids, adaptive storage systems, smart e-mobility solutions, innovative resilience and agile demand and supply shaping.”

The CEO for Siemens Smart Infrastructure and member of the Managing Board, Cedrik Neike, is part of the opening session at European Utility Week and POWERGEN Europe on 12 November with a keynote address entitled: “Powering energy-intelligent societies.”

Industry support
“Being able to have and retain the longstanding support of industry giants and pioneers such as Siemens, helps us to serve the sector better” says European Utility Week and POWERGEN Europe event director Paddy Young.

He adds: “we look forward to welcoming more than 18,000 power and energy professionals to what is now one unified event for all levels of the energy transition. This includes extensive and diverse conference programme that will deep dive into the trends and future direction of each aspect of the sector – from generation to grid through to end-users – while a bustling exhibition floor offers visitors the opportunity to see the latest technologies and solutions first hand, exchange ideas and share knowledge.”

The free-to-attend Hub Sessions on the exhibition floor will mirror the themes of the Summit conference programme: Energy Revolution, Digitalisation and Energy Markets.

The POWERGEN programme is focussed around two Hub Sessions: Distributed Generation and Lifecycle Management.

Supporting the energy transition
The Initiate! Innovation Hub will give the next generation tech and developments in the start-up and young talent space a podium with its unique focus on fresh thinking and original out-of-the-box solutions.

The Energy Capital Leaders Assembly will bring together investors and asset owners from traditional utilities and major energy companies, to support the Energy Transition; not just from a geopolitical standpoint but also to enable participants to navigate the finance and investment landscape.

A dedicated programme track is also aimed at municipal and commercial & industrial (C&I) energy users who are at the sharp end of Europe’s energy transition to meet an ever-increasing need to cut emissions and boost energy efficiency.

Clarion Energy
European Utility Week and POWERGEN Europe are organised by Clarion Energy, which is part of Clarion Events, and with over 40 events that cover the oil, gas, power and energy sectors, is one of the group’s largest portfolios.
