With only 3 weeks to go, Powering Africa: The Gas Option is promising to provoke lively debate. Key stakeholders in the gas and oil industry will join Government officials, regulators and utilities to discuss the commercialization of the gas sector, identifying the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead for Africa. January Makamba, Chair of Tanzania’s Parliamentary Committee for Energy and Minerals, is set to turn discussion into action. Makamba is the latest to confirm his participation at this senior level debate on the development of gas and power across Africa.
Other confirmed participants include the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) the Energy & Water Utilities Regulatory Authority (EWURA) in Tanzania, the World LP Gas Association in France, Volta River Authority in Ghana and the International Finance Corporation. Following the success of the first PA:GO last year, PA:GO 2 will particularly focus on Africa’s struggling domestic market, the practicalities of distribution and efficiency and the current challenges facing the development of the sector, looking in detail at LPG, LNG and gas to power.
This high-level, executive dialogue delivers interaction between the private and public sectors, bringing delegates together in a relaxed and intimate environment to do business and act on investment opportunities across Africa.
The meeting will take place at the Serena Beach and Spa Hotel in Mombasa, a luxury retreat situated on the beautiful Swahili coastline. To register or request a full list of participants, please contact Amy Offord: firstname.lastname@example.org or call +44 (0) 20 7370 8704
