With only 3 weeks to go, Powering Africa: The Financial Options is set to build on the success of previous years with participation from some of Africa’s key stakeholders. The confirmed attendance of a range of oil, gas and renewable companies originating from Africa, China, the USA and Europe will ensure diverse and challenging discussions on the potential for overseas examples to be emulated in Africa. We are privileged to be welcoming two Ministries from South Sudan to PAFO this year, and it is hoped that their participation will shed light on the country’s plans for the provision of energy going forward. The dialogue will examine the risks and opportunities related to investing in Africa’s power sector, bringing together public and private bodies to determine how project funding can be accessed and what is needed to drive progress.
Latest to confirm their attendance are Hon. Mr. David Deng Athorbei, the Minister of Electricity and Dams in South Sudan, and Eng Samuel Youziel, Director General of Power Planning and Supply from the Ministry of Energy and Mining in South Sudan. Other confirmed organisations include Kenya Electricity Generating Company (KENGEN)the Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority (EWURA) in Tanzania, NERC Nigeria, Diamond Bank, Geometric Power and Volta River Authority Ghana.
The meeting will take place at the Serena Beach and Spa Hotel in Mombasa, a luxury retreat situated on the beautiful Swahili coastline. To register or request a full list of participants, please contact Amy Offord: firstname.lastname@example.org or call +44 (0) 20 7370 8704
