Tell us more about KONČAR’s presence in the region and current projects you are involved in?
KONČAR has been present in East Africa for more than 50 years and has successfully delivered equipment for power generation, transmission and distribution of electrical energy, especially for hydropower plants. Recent projects in Zambia (HPP Mulungushi and HPP Lunsemfwa), Kenya (HPP Kamburu), and Tanzania (HPP Kidatu), and the delivered transformers and other equipment, are the base for future challenges and activities.

Our focus should be on the construction of new hydropower plants and transformer stations, asset lifecycle management, as well as grid optimisation and aggregation.

Taylor-made solutions, skilled workers, an in-house R&D institute, laboratory infrastructure, expert knowledge, a long tradition and worldwide references (more than 100 countries), tradition and knowledge will meet the customers’ expectations and specific requirements in to make successful energy stories in Africa.

How important is your presence at Future Energy East Africa?
Future Energy East Africa is important for us as a place where we can meet investors, local authority and experts, discuss the strategy in this region, find solutions and ways to participate in new projects and to play the role of a reliable partner.
