The role of the Advisory Board of The African Power Elites: Projects and People is an important element for identifying the projects and people who define the progress being made on the continent.

The advisory board will review each motivation received and put forward those who have raised the benchmark for the African power industry to aspire to.

ESI Africa thanks the following advisory board members who are giving freely of their time and expertise:

Ifey IkeonuIfey Ikeonu, Council Member, ECOWAS Regional Electricity Regulatory Authority

Ifey Ikeonu is a Member of the ERERA Regulatory Council. She holds a Masters degree in Law and is an energy lawyer with over 20 years of experience in the Nigerian and West African Electric Power Sector. Prior to joining ERERA in January 2011, she was the Head of the Strategy and Project Management Office at the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission.

Ikeonu played an active role in the power sector reform programme in Nigeria where she worked with various committees on the Legal and Regulatory aspects of the reform. She has written a number of articles on the power sector reform programme and Regulation in Nigeria and has also presented numerous papers on the same subjects. She is a certified Regulation Specialist.

David M. Mwangi, Energy Consultant

David Munene Mwangi, is an Energy Consultant who took voluntary early retirement in August, 2010 from the Kenya Power, where he had worked for 32 years, rising through the ranks to Chief Manager, Planning, Research & Performance Monitoring, a position he held for 9 years.

Mwangi currently dedicates most of his time to Power Africa as the Technical Advisor, Energy in Kenya.

Knox MsebenziKnox Msebenzi, Executive Director, PIESA

Knox Msebenzi is a qualified Electrical Power Engineer, which he received from the University of Cambridge and Rensselaer Polytechnic as well as having an MBA (Wits),  Pr Eng.

Msebenzi is the Executive Director of the Power Institute of East and Southern Africa (PIESA) and Managing Director of the Nuclear Industry Associatioin of South Africa (NIASA).

Lebbi Changullah is the Secretary General of
