ESI Africa, the power journal of Africa is proud to announce a call for nominations for the 6th annual African Power Station Manager of the Year Award.
The award will be presented during African Utility Week, being held in Durban, South Africa between 22 and 25 February.
Nominations for this prestigious award will be accepted from throughout Africa and entries will be voted for by an independent panel of industry experts.
The judging panel will be looking for genuine excellence on a specific project or achievement, introduced by a power plant manager that has lead to a remarkable improvement in power plant efficiency or has had benefits for the community or environment.
A motivational entry in the form of a letter should be sent which outlines the project or achievement of the power plant manager.
Other information that should be contained in the letter includes:
•Qualities of leadership
•Management practices and style
•Safety systems and safety measures implemented
•Educational and training programmes
•Energy efficiency programmes
•Environmental considerations
•Overall management of the plant
•Public awareness campaigns.
Entries should be based on any project which has been implemented since the beginning of 2008.
The nomination, which outlines the project or achievements of the power plant manager, should be approximately 500 words long. Supporting documentation may also be sent to chanel.bradley@spintelligent.com
