ARGeo’s project objective is to promote geothermal resource development and utilization by reducing the risk associated with exploration and exploitation. ARGeo aims to accelerate geothermal investments in both the public and private sectors in the Eastern Africa region. The project is financed by the Global Environment Facility (GEF).
ARGeo holds biennial conferences to further regional cooperation in the development and utilization of geothermal resources. The first three ARGeo conferences were held in Ethiopia, Uganda and Djibouti respectively.
