Kelman was set up in 1994 in Northern Ireland as a company that would design and supply unique products to the UK electrical power market. The company’s first main revenue stream was in the fault management arena, designing a range of innovative products that allowed the regional electricity companies (RECs) to better react to fault conditions. In 2000 two of Kelman’s fault management products, Rezap and Fusemate, were awarded ‘Millennium Product’ status.

In 2005 Kelman launched Kelman Monitoring, a joint venture company established to develop, manufacture and market a range of products for environmental monitoring, including land-based stack emissions monitoring.
